Restorative Yoga 1 - Muladhara Chakra (40 min)
In this 40 minute restorative practice, we focus on releasing into the support of the earth while gently creating ease around the hips and pelvis. Muladhara Chakra is the root chakra, located at the base of the spine. As we release this area, we produce within ourselves a feeling of stability and grounding.
For this restorative practice, as well as your yoga mat, you will need yoga blocks, cushions, blankets, a bolster if you have one and an eye pillow if you have one. Create a quiet space for yourself where you won’t be disturbed. Dim the lights or just use candles. Close the door. Give yourself this half an hour of uninterrupted time. Everyone will benefit in the end!
If you are not sure which restorative practice to choose, do them in the order they are numbered. So you would begin with Muladhara Chakra and move up through the chakras in sequence.
This practice is suitable for everyone, even those recovering from injury or feeling under the weather. Suitable for the first trimester of pregnancy only. It is designed to bring you to a state of deep relaxation, through a simple sequence of supported postures. We linger in the postures, breathing and encouraging a feeling of letting go.
