Restorative Yoga

75 minute practice of guided restorative postures and relaxation

20 euros
St. Paul's

Service Description

This practice is suitable for everyone, even those recovering from injury or feeling under the weather. In this always on world, we all need more rest. This practice is that. It is a chance to experience a state of deep relaxation, through a simple sequence of supported postures. As you settle into a posture, Caragh will offer some words to help your mind to settle. Then we settle into silence to allow you space to relax inwards and let go of thinking and doing. The practice includes only a small number of postures but we will linger in them for anything from 5 to 20 minutes. By the end of the practice you will feel a profound sense of relaxation that has to be experienced to be believed. This class can be done as a one-off drop-in class or you can use your class plan. Props! Like skiing or riding a bike, Restorative Yoga requires equipment! Provided are two bolsters, yoga blocks and a strap, as well as a limited number of yoga mats, blankets and cushions. You will need more. Please bring as much as you can from this list: > A scarf or eye mask to cover the eyes (very important) > 3-4 blankets - one big warm one plus two identical fairly firm blankets or big bath towels (identical in size and shape) plus one more blanket if possible. > 2 cushions, identical in size and shape > 1 hand towel > Cosy socks "Caragh sets up an environment for deep relaxation and release, gently guiding the class through various breathing techniques and familiar poses, adapted with props. Caragh's relaxed manner is perfectly suited for meditation and I've felt more grounded and at ease after these sessions - I'd highly recommend trying these classes." Deirdre, Cork
